The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
by Rebecca Skloot

A wonderfully well-written book that's as much human interest as it is science.  Spanning half a century, it tells the story of cell research, the woman's whose cells made it profitable and the long term effects on her family.  One of the most moving books I have ever read and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants an excellent book. Very unusual for the genre.
